Lord of the Flies: American Dehumanization
As industry and the politics of governing merge, fascism in America grows. Now Politicians protect the right to kill as a priority over the right to life. Regulations and the right to due process, as well as the right to life, all are being scuttled by Trumpism.
- Faux Free Market Unleashed
Contrary to conventional notions of libertarians and the Milton Friedmanites at the Chicago School, Adam Smith believed that “moral sentiments” should set limits on the rapacious nature of free market trade due to human greed and lust for power. Today, as Trump and the Republicans finish the work of deregulating corporations, the results of centuries of moral and reasonable evolution and human progress are being cast aside. Notions of fairness and justice are being ignored as the nation descends into rule “by the stronger,” a process of dehumanization set in motion by the better funded oligarchs, who have privatized the “free market.”
- The Dead Children’s Codicil
In District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570 (2008), the Supreme Court of the United States held, in a 5–4 decision, that the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home.
From this decision, aided and abetted by the flow of cash from the fire-arms industry and their surrogates at the NRA, state and federal politicians unleashed the current epidemic of “weapons of war” that are available to individuals, magically transforming side arms and muskets of yore into “automatic rifles” of choice for serial killers.
Hence we have the “Dead Children” codicil of the Second Amendment that transformed the “musket-based militias,” instituted to protect settlers engaged in land grabs from retaliation by stubborn Native Americans back in the 17th and 18th Centuries, into rights for serial killers to buy guns and execute the innocent, all thanks to the flow of dollars that corrupts lawmakers and courts.
- Paper into Person
In Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, 558 U.S. 310 (2010), in a 5-4 decision held on January 21, 2010 that the free speech clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution prohibits the government from restricting independent expenditures for communications by nonprofit corporations, for-profit corporations, labor unions, and other associations.
In effect the courts perversely transformed an administrative (paper) construct or corporation into “personhood,” which then allowed the wealthy to use unlimited funds to buy and sell politicians, while remaking the country in their own image. The Pirates, who help accelerate climate change, torture the seas and the earth for profit or profit from incarcerating dark-skinned people, use speech as propaganda to “divide and conquer” just as the Russian “Bots” undermine social networks by pitting “all against all.”
- Results: Inhuman Society
When politicians trade lives for dollars or votes, they no longer deserve to be called “human” beings. A majority of Justices on the court, elected representatives in Washington D.C., the President, and the Corporate Elite, the robotic politicians and the puppets, who dance to their controllers, whether called the NRA, Koch Brothers, or Vladimir Putin, have all transformed themselves into “inhuman beings” by denying their moral imagination.
In other words, the politicos and Corporate CEOs aid blood sacrifice by supporting a perverse system that discourages moral behavior and forbids common sense regulation due to the superstition of gun fanatics and their ilk.
Vehicles, driven by human beings, can also be seen as weapons but they are highly regulated. The U.S. Army engages in training recruits in highly complex procedures, prior to releasing trainees with locked and loaded weapons. Even the Thin Blue Line requires training and puts cops on notice for gunning down civilians. But anybody, it seems, if they can reach the counter and appear as a late adolescent, can buy an automatic weapon.
Apparently, Christian gun fanatics forgot that the “Right to Life” should extend to the Living. Contrary to NRA propaganda, and despite its use as a fetish, a gun is not a divinity. How can a human being with five senses and moral imagination believe an “administrative construct” is a flesh and blood person, whose speech, transformed into money, should be protected by the First Amendment in order to promote the “Dead Children’s Codicil” of the Second Amendment?
Whether in the Mid East or at Columbine, Sandy Hook, Las Vegas and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, today the arms industry, aided by advanced technology as well as the courts, and politicians, contributes mightily to mass killing abroad and at home. In effect, the state, another paper construct or system is taking aim at and executing its own flesh and blood kids.
Call America’s new foundation myth, the adult version of “Lord of the Flies” as chaos descends on the country and savagery ascends in Washington D.C. It seems as if Hope, in the person of brave Emma Gonzales et al and Robert Mueller and his agents, is all that stands between us and the apocalyptic decline of America.
Now we know how the Native Americans and Native Hispanics perceived Los Americanos during the mid-19th Century when inhuman savagery and Manifest Destiny came calling in the Southwest.
