From Colorado: “Every plane from Dallas to Aspen is completely full through July 7 ! We’re screwed!”

From Nevada 1. Such a sad state of affairs … NV governor put mandatory mask restrictions in effect today – 50% of citizens conforming at most (“no one is going to tell me what to do….”). I find myself constantly trying to explain the logic (without using the dirty “science” word) to the people, I cross paths with — tool belts, cowboy hats, “native” Nevadan’s, to no avail. Pathetic frustrating strategy. Try to see your breath (respiratory droplets) on an arctic day emanating from your mouth. Now with a ski mask or bandana on? There is little hope for reason to prevail and a degradation of culture that may force us to move to a desolate place. Appreciate you putting pen to paper. Right wingers (well off ones) another thread, even more disturbing.

From Taos: Ok, airports but clearly (to me) blocking all roads from the East and perhaps also the west? NH may be “Live free or die” but Texas needs a 2020 license-plate warning. Thanks

Nevada 2: Casinos re-opened — at least 1 requires face-coverings for customers as well as all staff. Story: my friend’s niece deals. A man came to her table without a mask. She told him he was required to wear a face-covering. He pulled a piece of paper from his pocket, a doctor’s note he claimed exempted him because he had “bad asthma — masks obstruct his breathing.” She called the floor man over who listened and said, “Sir, it sounds as if you’re too sick to be in public — then you should leave” He shoved note back in his pocket took out a mask from the other pocket and put it on.”

They may not mean to, but they do.” —Philip Larkin

America: “Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.” Abraham Lincoln

Palestine: “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” —Jesus

France: “That to philosophize is to learn to die.” Montaigne
