John Nichols: Confessions of a Fly Fisherman
By: Bill Whaley
21 June, 2011
The keynote address at the recent Red River Restoration Symposium was delivered by Taos author John Nichols. While many of John’s fans are familiar with his fiction and nonfiction, fewer folks recognize him as a stand-up comedian. The address below neatly weaves together themes of social and environmental justice while including an array of the author’s own perceived flaws. Apparently, he approaches women and fish using the same method of “catch and release.” It’s a wonderful piece of Nicholmania.
