Cold Weather Alert: From Fritz Hahn

According to Steve Archuleta (County Manager): “the shelter has money to put men in a hotel and families in a hotel…a contract is in place with a local hotel and no one should be sleeping outside… We met with the contractor yesterday and gave him the green light to move the shelter…”

From County Commissioner Tom Blankenhorn (who sits on the Homeless Shelter Board): “…The County site (for the homeless shelter) is…progressing. In the meantime we are putting men (women and families) up at the Whitten Inn. The problem is getting the word out on the street. Police, churches, Tri County and hospital have our contact information.
