TAOS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS WORKSTUDY SESSION
Editor’s Note: I believe Commissioner Tom Blankenhorn will begin conducting a review of LUDC issues tonight, Monday, July 8, at the County Commission Chambers. Neighborhoods should send representatives with concerns to raise the issues. Commissioners are determined to update and pass some form of the LUDC this year. Tomorrow, during their workstudy session, the commissioners and public will hear an update on plans for a joint town/county arts and cultural district in the historic district. Apparently, due to the town’s lack of resources and personnel, the county is taking a leadership role by emphasizing the historic importance of the Plaza area, an area that customarily receives attention from tourists and merchants but has been generally neglected by the local political culture.
