The speed with which the microwave-grid is being readied throughout Santa Fe is just a tad scary.  And those of us living 4G free here in Taos need greater awareness of the dangers and how to keep 4G out of here. Arthur Firstenberg and his group of mighty warriors are on the job in Santa Fe and we can learn much from their efforts. Arthur can be reached at bearstar@fastmail.fm or 505 471 0129.

Although it’s a little late – Arthur’s group meets Thursday, 8/26 from 6:30 to 8:00 at Isis Medicine, 401 Botulph Lane, two blocks south of Saint Michaels off Botulph Road. The Smart Meter agenda will include the following:

1. Distribution of brochures about dangers of Smart Meters.

2. Reports from communications with NM Gas, Public Regulations Commission, elected officials presented by group members.

3. How to appeal 4G applications by cell-phone companies etc.

4. Taking measurements regarding applying FCC’s lax exposure standards to day-care playgrounds etc.

An interesting encounter occurred at the broadband promotion party hosted by Udall and Bingaman in Moriarty on 8/16. After Udall answered an inquiry with “I don’t think anyone is going to be forced to have these technologies” his aide, Kevin Cummins expressed displeasure with the group’s activities, requesting Arthur call off his group so others could speak. When Arthur told him they were all individuals and he couldn’t tell them what to do, Cummins replied “this will make it difficult for me to work with you guys in the future.”

Hummmmmm! Can we call this business as usual?
